Abstract:

Some of the features of the Mathematica-based program LinKnot written by the authors are used in discovering symmetry properties of knots and links. They are analyzed amphicheirality of knots and links, periodicity, symmetry groups, and maximum symmetrical projections. The program LinKnot is used as an experimental mathematics tool for recognizing knots and links with desired symmetry properties.
