An envelope curve, as another example, is produced from the regularly osculating curved lines (In Figure 122, a spiral shape is created by the osculating KOHSEI (Basic Art & Design) of circles), while sometimes unexpected shapes of interspace appear in the middle of the surrounding units (Fig. 121, 123). In Figure 124, the skillful use of the background
based on the interest in the visual intricacy of figures and grounds makes
it possible to integrate the fusion and omission of the shapes, and intensive
interspace into one picture. It succeeds to create a picture with sweet
harmony of the figures and grounds.
