Then, in what way of thinking is the major study of the "basics" of "art and design", or that which has the word "basic" at its beginning so to speak, standing? As study improves, education has specialized many major studies, but recently the ways of specialization have appeared in the academic education, one after another, that seem to be considered as either specializations or synthesizes. In universities, this can be found in the name of subjects or majors that have the word "basic", "interdisciplinary", or "comparative" at the head of the title. For example, there is "basic medical science" in the education of medical science. This is the major in the study of medicine that studies the important contents that are common in all clinical medicines, with the professors of basic medical science having majors in anatomy, pharmacology, physiology, biochemistry and pathology. Generally, these studies are those which each doctor had been examining as necessary in each vertical majors such as internal medicine, surgery, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, urology and so on. In this age, there is no difference, however, apart from the fact
that the current age requires many
researchers who study anatomy, pharmacology, physiology and so on,
which are necessary in each
field clinical medicine. In short, as medical science improves,
the majors are specialized. However, a
new type of major has appeared that not only increases the number
of majors which generally search for only to the "location" of illness,
but also studies synthetically, combining the common parts included in
each major. In other words, it is possible to consider that a horizonal
division type of majors has occurred compared with the more general vertical
division type.
