(ii) KOHSEI (Basic Art & Design) using geometric progressions

In preparing two-dimensional diagrams, the areas having the relations of the geometric progression is very easily obtained. When using squares or rectangles are used, the lengths of the vertical and horizontal sides are successively doubled. If the are of the screen is fixed, the lengths of the vertical and horizontal sides are successively halved. The works of Figures 245 and 246 are created using these methods. Shown in Figure 249 is the work in which the interval of perpendicular lines varies as a geometric progression, and the intervals of the horizontal lines varies as a Fibonacci progression.

Geometric progressions are attractive because the size increases or decreases greatly.
