As understood from Figure 184, if the height (h) is assumed to be constant, the areas of the triangle and the quadrangle (parallelogram) can be made the same by making the ratios of the length of the side 2 to 1 [(Triangle) 2a × h × 1/2= (Parallelogram) a × h]. Various shapes are created by devising easy ways
of acquiring areas using such a method as this. Graph paper is good as
sketching material to modify ideas.
